How old were these kids? In public schools, we started graphing in 2nd grade. This graphing was limited, of course, but was supposedly built on every year.

I think you did well in view of the circumstances. You obviously impressed the observers.

You're probably right about the salary. I was once offered a position teaching English at Emma Willard. Classes of about 10 girls, as opposed to the 25 or so I had at Bethlehem Central. And it was supposed to be "prestegious" to teach at Emma Willard. However, the salary was only about a third of what I was earning at that time. Couldn't do it.

They were finishing fifth and sixth grade! If they're my students next year they'll be in for a shock. :) There are 9 kids in the combined class this year; they said next year's sixth-seventh grade class would be smaller, but I don't know by how much.

I'll accept a low salary IF Cadao can go there for free. I'd be much happier with him in a tiny class than in public school.
